In my opinion, Klonopin is stronger because it has a longer half life (stays in your system longer). Xanax worked for about a week for me, then it had no effect. I take 2mg Klonopin 3x's a day for anxiety and panic attacks. Xanax is stronger but klon has a longer half life like previously mentioned and they are both fast acting (xanax is good during the panic attack since it is the fastest acting of all benzos however i hate the prescribing of xanax over long half life benzos -should always start with valium since this is a very long halflife and less sedating which would help with some cognitive behavioral therapy and or psychotherapy and meditation)... by the way 2mg is a high dose and should not be taken 3 times a day in my opinion (over lap between the drug keeps a good 3-4 mg in your system) also remember your body gets used to the med but just because you dont feel the effects physically it doesnt mean its not working subtly since thats how xanax is suposed to be. Obviously, there is mutual agreement that this is a high dose, so I am not attacking you or anything like that... I just have a few questions for you--if you don't mind--to satisfy my own curiosity. I am only wondering because, typically, only the shorter half-life BZDs (i.e., Xanax or Ativan) would be prescribed on a t.i.d. dosage schedule, whereas Klonopin would only be needed (at most) 2x daily, due to its longer half-life. Also, have you tried other longer half-life BZDs and found them unable to be of any help for you? It's a little scary when you read the literature on BZDs; when (and IF) you ever plan to come off of Klonopin, it is going to be a very long (or, if not long, an extremely awful) experience. I'm just very interested in how/why a doctor would have somebody on such a high amount. British students are using Xanax in growing numbers. It's 10 times stronger than Valium, relatively easy to get hold of, but has been linked to at least two recent student suicides. Xanax is addictive, dangerous, and we don't encourage or endorse taking it. But, burying your head in the sand about drugs isn't going to help anyone. You've probably seen those little white bars by now, the ones with the little lines pressed into them. Some use Xanax's anti-anxiety effects to self medicate, while others do it to get a buzz, or to help them get to sleep after a big night. Whilst it's a prescription drug in the US, it's less widely available in the UK. Legitimately, it's only available on a private prescription. Yet its ready availability on the deep web, or casually through friends – most students we recently surveyed get it from someone they know – means Xanax culture and usage is spreading among British students. Valacyclovir hcl 1 gram tablet Metoprolol overdose death Xanax and cocaine are considered relative opposites, with one being an. and crack cocaine is generally smoked for a quick and short-lived “high” or rush. Xanax kicks in very quick, like within 5 minutes and has a short duration of 2.5-3 hours You become very calm quickly, then you'll feel slightly sedated, maybe numb. You MAY feel some euphoria for a few minutes or so but don't expect to. The mellowing effects last for about 45 minutes, at which point I wanted to enjoy my buzz, but I also had the intense urge to get some rest. The night before I had gone to bed around 2 AM, and without the xanax I probably would have done the same. It would be difficult at this point not to have heard about the destruction prescription drugs have caused throughout the U. A lot of the focus tends to be on the opioid epidemic, and that does lead to tens of thousands of deaths each year. However, overdoses and fatalities are connected to other drug classes as well. Many emergency room overdose visits each year frequently result from a combination of different types of drugs. Combining drugs can mask the effects of each substance to the point where users don’t realize how much they’ve taken. If two drugs have similar effects, such as respiratory depression, combining them can also increase these potentially dangerous effects. There are different reasons someone might combine two drugs, such as Percocet and Xanax. It could be done without understanding the possible effects. However, the main ingredient in Xanax, alprazolam, does not necessarily trigger euphoria. Xanax causes euphoria in 0.1 – 1% of those who take it. And some people are more likely to experience a positive mood effect than others. (yes) Learn more about the pharmacology of Xanax and its effects on the central nervous system here. The main ingredient in Xanax that affects the central nervous system is a benzodiazepine called alprazolam. Benzodiazepines slow down the central nervous system and are known as sedatives, or depressants. Although the exact action of alprazolam on the brain is still unknown, experts think that this class of benzodiazepine binds at stereo specific receptors at several sites within the central nervous system to cause dose-related depressant effects. And it is this action of alprazolam on the central nervous system that is associated with positive mood and other effects related to euphoria.
