Consumer Medicine Information This leaflet answers some common questions about Diflucan. It does not take the place of talking to your doctor or pharmacist. Your doctor has weighed the risks of you taking Diflucan against the benefits they expect it will have for you. Diflucan capsules (for adults) and oral suspension (for children) are used to treat certain fungal and yeast infections. If you have any concerns about taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Diflucan belongs to a group of medicines called azole antibiotics. It works by preventing the growth of the fungal and yeast organisms causing your infection. Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why Diflucan has been prescribed for you. Your doctor may have prescribed Diflucan for another reason. Diflucan is available only with a doctor's prescription. Do not take Diflucan if you have an allergy to: Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing; swelling of the face, lips, tongue or other parts of the body; rash, itching or hives on the skin. Diflucan should not be given if you are taking cisapride (a medicine used to treat stomach problems). Fluconazole is a first-generation triazole antifungal medication. It differs from earlier azole antifungals (such as ketoconazole) in that its structure contains a triazole ring instead of an imidazole ring. While the imidazole antifungals are mainly used topically, fluconazole and certain other triazole antifungals are preferred when systemic treatment is required because of their improved safety and predictable absorption when administered orally. Fluconazole's spectrum of activity includes most Candida species (but not Candida krusei or Candida glabrata), Cryptococcus neoformans, some dimorphic fungi, and dermatophytes, among others. Common uses include: Fungal resistance to drugs in the azole class tends to occur gradually over the course of prolonged drug therapy, resulting in clinical failure in immunocompromised patients (e.g., patients with advanced HIV receiving treatment for thrush or esophageal Candida infection). albicans, resistance occurs by way of mutations in the ERG11 gene, which codes for 14α-demethylase. These mutations prevent the azole drug from binding, while still allowing binding of the enzyme's natural substrate, lanosterol. glabrata is increasing the rate of efflux of the azole drug from the cell, by both ATP-binding cassette and major facilitator superfamily transporters. Development of resistance to one azole in this way will confer resistance to all drugs in the class. Other gene mutations are also known to contribute to development of resistance.

Hi guys, I am currently on day 10 of taking finasteride and from day 1 and I have been experiencing a small sharp pain in my chest either in the top of my ribs or to the side of my ribs (it's mainly in the side of my ribs below my aimpit if that makes sense). Breasts/Nipples are not tender or any change in appearance/no lumps but I'm fearing gyno. I have ADHD/OCD and I’ve noticed you all have mentioned anxiety. I visited my doctor Friday who didn't think it was gyno and perhaps due to my anxiety a lot of it was in my head. I'm three days in and dim has not been helping. Finasteride actually improves cardiac function but minoxidil is known to disrupt some things in the heart and chest tightness/chest pain is a listed side effect on the label.edit: Maybe they're talking about external chest pain (tissue), and not internal? I'm just worried about the gyno side of things. I was thinking of having a week off and coming back at 0.25mg with dim and working my way back up to a higher dose. I wonder if it could react with stress hormones or increase anxiety? My anxiety has clinged to this side I guess to the point where I'm unsure if the pain is genuine or not. Since taking finasteride I feel so much better about my hairloss. I've experienced chest pains the first time in fin... Perhaps too early to tell but i dont know how much longer I can handle. So I experienced bit of chest pain under the breast area. See this study: https://gov/pubmed/12234510So you must go back to see your doctor and get a resolution to this problem. Not a doctor or med student here but I'm wondering if the chest pains are somehow linked to anxiety. It lasted 20 minutes, I endured it and kept doing what I was doing and didn't assign it any meaning and it eventually went away. Try CBT and DM me and let me know how it goes if you don't want to share anything public on this thread. I've tried dropping my dose to 0.5mg for the last couple of days but the pain is still there. I take .5 every other day and recently been taking zinc as well. My dick felt numb the first day when I took 1mg but taking .5mg I feel normal. If you already have anxiety or depression BEFORE starting Fin and you take Fin, Fin will make the anxiety or depression worse according to one doctor I asked and anecdotal content on here and other forums. Try that I'm still getting the chest pain now and I'm off Fin for 3 days. I think I'll wait until next Monday and start again at 0.25mg and add DIM. I don't have words to explain how much CBT improved my life as someone who used to get panic attacks and all kinds of physical symptoms from anxiety. I've read other threads but a lot seem to die out before the OP updates on the situation. I'm not sure if it's zinc or what by my sides started hurting as well ever since I started taking 25mg zinc. As someone who had bad anxiety and panic attacks on and off for 18 months - but now manage it through regular gym and yoga sessions - I had stomach pain, dizziness, headaches, itching, IBS and night sweats all from anxiety alone. I've held back taking Fin for months because I've never wanted any of that to come back and am concerned Fin might up the anxiety ante again. I'd also do the mantra of "let it pass," meaning if you feel chest pains or some other strange physical symptom, just keep doing what you're doing - being at work, taking a shower, making breakfast, etc. I feel like I function on a higher plane now as a human being. Does it ever seem to occur when you’re taking deep breaths or deeply exhaling? Tressless is Reddit's most popular community for hair loss and balding.
